Gas Installation: Naylor Drainage

GAS INSTALLATION CASE STUDY

Client:  Long-established British manufacturer of drainage products for the construction and retail industry, Barnsley-based Naylor Drainage is a trusted client of Ormond Pipework Services.

The problem:

Plans for a new kiln were in place and Naylor required a 6” commercial gas installation to supply the burners.

The closest gas pipework to the new kiln was an underground steel 10” main.

It was agreed that exposing the 10” main and hot tapping a new branch would be the best solution.

Our solution:

Once the existing installation was exposed, Ormond under-pressure drilled the 10” main.

We then connected the prefabricated pipework to the newly formed branch.

Next, a gas tightness test and direct purge was performed.

Upon completion, a Gas Safe certificate was issued to Naylor confirming the installation was safe and ready to be used.
