Commercial Pipework Installation Case Study: Bridlington Hospital

PIPEWORK INSTALLATION CASE STUDY

Gas Safe Registered

The problem: Bridlington’s hospital gas pressure exceeded the maximum pressure of their governor. As a result, this affected the supply to their industrial gas dryers. Bridlington Hospital required a new 2” governor (pressure regulator) on their existing gas pipework

Commercial gas engineers, Ormond Pipework Services, were brought in to install the new governor and amend the existing pipework.

Our solution:
To make the changes to the gas pipework, we first turned off the gas supply. In order to safely remove the gas from the existing pipework, an indirect purge was done. After the installation was complete, Ormond did a tightness test and purged the pipework back to 100% gas. After the successful gas test and purge, a Gas Safe certificate was issued to the staff at Bridlington hospital.

Finally, the gas supply was tuned back on and the industrial dryers were refired.
