Commercial gas sub-meter installation
We supply and install commercial gas sub-meters for our industrial customers. Sub-meters can be installed on individual appliances to feed appliance level gas consumption data into M&T systems.
Underground MDPE installation
We are experts in underground gas and water installation. We regularly install MDPE using both Electrofusion and Butt fusion techniques ranging from 20mm-315mm. Our clients often require us to connect MDPE to their steel pipework.
Ormond is one of few contractors who can squeeze off MDPE pipework. This creates a temporary halt in the flow of gas which allows for alterations to be made without the need for purging or draining.
Hot tapping & under pressure drilling
We are one of the UK’s leading specialists in hot tapping and under pressure drilling. We can operate on all common pipeline materials and applications. We offer hot tapping services direct to industrial customers and as specialist subcontractors for other mechanical engineers.
We offer line stopping services direct to industrial customers and as specialist subcontractors. We can conduct line stopping interventions on all common pipework materials and in all major applications.
We are one of the few commercial gas installation specialists qualified to carry out bagging off interventions on the end users’ side of the gas meter. Bagging off creates a temporary stop in the gas flow, similar to line stopping with the only difference being no bypass.
Nitrogen purging, testing & decommissioning
Our Gas Safe qualification allows us to test and purge any size pipe up to four bar of pressure. Ormond uses nitrogen when indirectly purging to prevent a mixture of oxygen and methane. We often decommission gas pipework to make safe for demolition teams.
Pipework modifications & repairs
We provide a comprehensive pipework installation, repair & maintenance service directly to industrial customers ranging from manufacturing plants, retail units, universities, public facilities, warehouses and more.
Heating installation & repairs
We can assist with everything from new installations to service, repairs and maintenance on existing systems. Ormond has experienced engineers who have installed heating systems using a wide range of pipe materials. Our clients rely on us to amend pipework for new pumps, tanks, boilers etc.
